Moving on

In the last few years, I’ve moved a couple of times. It is always a chaotic time because there is an endless stream of things that need to be done. The place you are leaving requires attention – packing, address changes, utility changes, selling a house, and saying goodbye… The place you are going requires attention – unpacking, utility changes, learning all the ends and outs of the new place, the introductions…
One of the things that never changes, no matter how many times I move, is this: ‘Why do I have so much stuff?’ One of the things I like about moving is that it forces me to decide what is worth keeping and what needs to go.
And that is true of us spiritually when we want to move forward. We have to look at all of things in our lives and decide what is worth keeping and what needs to go. There is some junk that simply has to go. It might have served a purpose at one point, but it is time to move on.
Ask yourself this: Is there anything that needs to go so that you can move forward?
